When One Door Closes . . .
I truly am a believer in the Law of Attraction – that what you focus on expands, and you attract it to you like a magnet. In simple terms, it is the concept of “like attracts like.” This is why, even in the face of challenges, I do my best to focus on what I am grateful for, because I know that gratitude is an energy I want to experience more. 🙂 I also believe that the Universe always fills a “vacuum,” and that as space is made in one area of our lives, that space will be filled, in time, with something of a similar vibration to that of which we focus the majority of our thoughts and actions.
In my life in the last few months (and, if we’re being honest, couple of years), there have been a lot of doors closing – and you know what they say: When one door closes, another opens. I believe that fully, and that the space that is being created will be filled with something even better than that which has left. But boy oh boy – is this EVER testing my patience, and desire to experience more presence and peace! I would be the first to admit, patience has never really been my strong point, so you can imagine how frustrated I get when I find another door closing . . . picture Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory singing, “I Want It Now”!
So, I am learning how to accept the fact that sometimes I have to wait to see results, and also to honor the emotions as they arise in the “space”. What a great lesson in patience and peace this is . . . 😉
“Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.” –Coco Chanel
To me, this quote means that sometimes there was never a door in front of us in the first place. Recognizing that, and moving on, allows us to move forward toward better things.
